SUBMIT MATERIAL
If you are submitting fanfic, you must include the following:
- title
- author (permission to use email address?)
- the appropriate category
- a rating
- potential spoilers
- a brief summary
- any other information
Title: All titles are arranged in alphabetical order. To read material within your internet browser, click on the title. Or hold the shift key when clicking on the title to save the file to disk if you wish to read it offline.
Author: The names of authors and their email addresses are given by permission. And while most enjoy reader feedback, refrain from sending harsh criticisms. These authors are fans, not professionals.
File Size: This is simply how much space a file will take up on your computer. Although larger file sizes usually result in longer download times, network traffic may produce unexpected results. Please note that the file size is not required upon submitting material.
Category: Although it is sometimes difficult to classify material because categories can seem similar, please make a distinction before submitting to the archives.
Investigation (I) - a typical Millennium plot: tracking down a serial killer or investigating homicides, deaths, suicides, etc. and their connection to some greater evil
Prophecy (P) - another Millennium plot: biblical prophecies and revelations, the apocalypse and end of the world
Adventure (T) - fiction not centered around an investigation and/or prophetic plot, but with a survival/action premise
Crossover (C) - features major characters or situations from other television shows, movies, or books, regardless of what type of story it is; upon submitting to the archive, please indicate which television show, movie, or book is featured and the characters involved
Humor (H) - strong comedic overtones that could be slapstick, black comedy, parody, or satire
Story (S) - character-driven fiction that focuses on personal interaction rather than plot; stories of friendship, family, and romance (including pure erotica) usually fit under this category
Romance (S/R) - a romantic relationship, stated or strongly implied, between any two or more characters
Angst (S/A) - pyschological dramas about main character(s) in great emotional or physical pain
Vignette (S/V) - a mood piece that has little or no plot, but can have conversation or character interaction; most vignettes only last one scene, but there is no length limit
Other (O) - anything other than episodes, stories, and humor
Poem (O/P) - either original or reworked pieces from already established poets
Song (O/S) - lyrics to an original or reworked song
Essay (O/E) - non-fiction reports dealing with the themes of the show (serial killers, religion, the apocalypse, etc); for the purposes of this archive, non-fiction has its own index and is not under "Other Works"
Rating: The ratings system is approximate, but provides some indication of what material may be unsuitable for some readers.
G - appropriate for all ages
PG - nothing graphic, but not appropriate for young readers
PG-13 - contains some graphic violence and/or some gruff language
R - contains some sex, definite graphic violence, and/or definite gruff language and is not appropriate for anyone under legal age
NC-17 - contains much graphic sex, much graphic violence, and/or much gruff language and is not appropriate for anyone under legal age... and even some adults
(Slash) - same-sex pairings or gay/lesbian themes; content determines rating
Spoilers: While some stories do not follow the series and its plot lines, others may reveal information about previous episodes. Spoilers warn readers to avoid certain material if they have not seen the episodes (or seasons) listed.
Archived: For management purposes, archival dates are provided. Some entries are not dated because they were archived before this detailed system was implemented (sometime after April, 1997). Please note that this date is not required upon submitting material.
Summary: This is a brief description of the story, which should intrigue readers without giving away crucial plot points or ruining the ending.
Other: Typically, this field is for author's comments, or for advertising the existence of prequels/sequels, other formats (such as html or screenplay), or graphics corresponding to the story (companion artwork, cover illustrations, or print ads).
